X'mas celebration 2008 in New York
The annual Christmas Carol Celebrations of Sri Lankan Catholics living in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania was held at Saint Peter’s Church Parish Hall in Staten Island, New York on the 13th of December 2008. Event was attended by more than 450 members and friends.
Carols were sung by the Sri Lankan Catholic Choir of NY/ NJ. Ceremony had lots of fun activities for kids and teens which included a balloon blowing contest, musical chairs and a dance competition. Great festive atmosphere was created with Christmas décor and lighting which drew great appreciation amongst everyone. Finale of the evening was the arrival of the Santa clause amidst cheers of every one. Kids and adults danced their way past midnight to end a memorable evening.
Music for carols and dancing for the entire evening was provided by our versatile house musicians and band which included beautiful ballads, instrumentals and bailas etc. All attendees were treated with refreshments and pizzas. This is another hugely successful free event organized by the Catholic Communities of New York and New Jersey for the benefit all Sri Lankans in the East Coast. We meet every last Sunday at St. Peters church.
