Annual Katina ceremony at the Texas Buddhist Meditation Center

Sri Lankan Buddhists and friends gathered at the Texas Buddhist Meditation Center in Fort Worth, Texas, to celebrate the annual Katina Punya Karma on the 25th of October 2009. The devotees participated in the sewing of robes for monks, heel dhana (breakfast for monks) and a Katina perahera followed by a pooja. Many members of the Sri Lankan community in North Texas and a few from as far as Houston participated in the day's activities.
The chief of the center Ven. Kamburugalle Nanda was joined by monks from several nearby temples and as afar as Myanmar and Malaysia in conducting the day's activities.
