12th Annual Feast of Our Blessed Mother and Catholic Community Day
Catholics in the east coast celebrated the 12 th annual feast of the blessed mother on May 23, 2010 at the Blue Army Shrine, Washington , New Jersey- USA. Over 500 hundred devotees were blessed with a beautiful day to celebrate this out door mass and procession at 12.00 noon.
Main celebrant father Sujith Tillekeratne in his homily reminded the congregation that our blessed mother wants each of us to be a good son and a good daughter and how we could lead a good life by practicing simple things in life. Always accomplish what is possible and do not be critical when others fail. Success or failure depends on how we look at things. It is our attitude that makes us elevate or makes us downtrodden. Do not impress your self with gossip,critism and condemnation of others. Do not view others gifts as a challenge but as a blessing.
Sri Lankan catholic choir of New York and New Jersey sang praise and worship in their usual style. Ceremony concluded with the blessings invoked from the sacred statute. After conclusion of the ceremony people gathered at a near by park for a family picnic with plenty of food, music and games.
