Sri Lankan performance at the Dallas Asian Festival 2012
For the first time in its 22 year history, attendees to this year's Dallas Asian Festival witnessed a wonderful Sri Lankan cultural performance by a troupe of area Sri Lankans. The item titled Sri Lankan Folk Songs (Jana Gee) included traditional Sinhala folk music and drums by performers dressed in traditional attire.
A Sri Lankan booth at the festival served traditional snacks, rice and curry as well as Ceytips Ceylon Tea. The booth became a popular stop for the many folks including the Mayor of Dallas who lined up to sample a taste of Sri Lanka.
